No, I don’t agree with the statement. Although it states you are better off to think of yourself, I feel as though it’s better if you’re able to think of others as well. If you’re always thinking just of yourself, your own opinions, then you’ll never be open for change, changes for yourself or the world, you’ll just look at your point of view.
I think in this case you should be able to look to the open way, the path of listening to others, being your own person is not the same thing as just using your own words. Just because you’re your own person doesn’t mean you can’t listen to what others have to say. I see it as, when listening to others you’re broadening your horizon, getting new ideas, and changing thoughts.
Think of it like this, if whenever you were driving, or walking, and you always went left because people told you to go right, you would have a good chance of getting lost. So, listening to others can help, you don’t have to be completely independent. It’s the idea that you can depend on others and don’t have to pressure yourself to do anything which is helpful. You don’t have to worry, and fret if you’re alone, you don’t need to put yourself in a situation where everyone is against you, because you have listened to what they have to say, and have taken advise and ideas from other people and not just depended on yourself completely.
It’s better if you have a sort of guide to help you through life. If you don’t follow someone you will never change, and you’ll be exactly the same your entire life. People help you change, so therefore other people are a source of good change, or bad change, but either way you’re changing so you’re not the same, not necessarily consistent when it comes to certain things, and that will also create a much more interesting person within yourself, and to others you may help later on.

Book Reading

Eclipse
Eclipse-

I started reading it in class, and I know already that I’ll like it because I enjoyed the others in the series by the same author. Plus, it takes place in Washington, and that makes it even more fun when they talk about different cities I’ve been too and I can somehow relate to what they’re talking about. The beginning is always interesting because it’s the main character always in some sort of trouble, and she’s talking about the situation, in minor detail, and it makes you want to impatiently turn the page. This is one of those books I would stay up until three AM reading just to try and finish it completely.

Summerizing Faber

Faber is saying that Christianity is just another person on the TV, and isn’t the lord’s son any more. He was afraid to speak up when things were going wrong because of fear he might be one of the guilty. I think Faber and Montag should read more, and more, and slowly, possibly try to change the world around them, even if it’s destroying the world that’s already there. They can try to achieve what they can change, for now, since there’s only two of them.
